Holyoke Medical Center stroke program earns five awards

Holyoke Medical Center has once again received multiple honors for the coordination and delivery of care to patients who have had a hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke, that is, a blood vessel in the brain has ruptured or is blocked by a clot. The hospital received four awards from the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. It has also earned the 2018 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines Stroke Gold Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus.
