Whole new grocery bag: Natural foods chain says good riddance to plastic
The Austin, Texas-based supermarket chain, which operates a store in Hadley, expects to sack all its plastic grocery bags by April 22, Earth Day. The chain, which has 270 stores in the United States, Canada and Great Britain, estimates that the move will keep as many as 100 million plastic grocery bags out of the environment by the end of the year.

Skybus expands schedule
Skybus Airlines is adding new flights to Westover Metropolitan Airport.
Starting on Thursday, a flight to Greensboro, N.C., will be added. On March 7, the discount passenger airline will add a second daily flight to Columbus, Ohio, where Skybus headquarters is based.

Small Scale Green Energy Projects Gain Momentum in Massachusetts
The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative estimates that 10 wind turbine projects could be built and connected to the grid in 2008. Nearly all of them, however, are just one- or two-turbine projects. Still, when they're complete, the 10 projects would double the number of wind turbine sites in the state.

The Green of Winter
Snowmaking uses more electricity than anything else at the resort. The wind is strongest in the winter months. A wind turbine will enable Jiminy to stabilize a portion of its energy costs well into the future. The wind turbine is expected to provide 33 percent of Jiminy Peak's electricity annually.

Top Lawmakers Unveil Nation-Leading Biofuel Measures
