When 20 representatives of Lego Systems Inc. spent a play date with children from Square One’s Tommie Johnson Child & Family Center last fall, they promised they’d be back with a big surprise. On Tuesday — to the delight of children and teachers — Lego’s community engagement division delivered on that promise as company executives and designers unveiled an eye-popping new Lego-themed playroom in the basement of Square One’s 255 King St. facility. “It’s truly transformational,” Square One CEO Joan Kagan said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new playscape.
